Travelling With Children: Seats, Strollers and Long Transfers

Practical advice for family airport transfers in Istanbul, from child seats to how much luggage a van really holds.

Travelling With Children: Seats, Strollers and Long Transfers

Ask for the seat, not the promise

A child seat should be requested when you book, not when the car arrives. Tell us the age and weight of each child and the seat will be fitted before pick-up — at no extra cost. A folded stroller belongs in the boot, which means you should book a vehicle with the boot to match.

Cars fill up faster than people think

Four adults with four large suitcases is a van, not a sedan. As a rule of thumb, count one suitcase per passenger plus hand luggage, and choose the class above what looks sufficient. The difference in price is smaller than the difference between a comfortable drive and a cramped one.

Timing with children

Everything takes longer: the toilet stop after landing, the stroller assembly, the walk to the car. Leave the buffer you would leave for yourself and add twenty minutes. We would rather wait than rush you.

Make the drive part of the trip

A quiet cabin, water, and a driver who understands that a tired child needs a calm car rather than a conversation. Long transfers are easier when nobody is performing hospitality at you.

One practical detail

If you are travelling with a baby, send us the flight number and a phone number that works on arrival. Sometimes the most useful thing a driver can do is meet you thirty metres earlier, at the lift instead of the exit.

Prefer to have it arranged for you?

Send us your flight, dates and luggage; we confirm the car and the price before you land.
